Washington D.C. \u2013\u2013 <\/strong>The Senate has passed U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff’s bipartisan bill to provide the most resources for Georgia military construction projects in 15 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his first year as the top Democrat on the Senate Military Construction and VA Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff helped write and pass through the U.S. Senate a bipartisan funding bill that includes $556 million<\/a> for nearly a dozen projects across Georgia \u2014 the most funding for Georgia military construction and quality-of-life projects since 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bipartisan bill includes a $30 million increase over the president\u2019s request for oversight and maintenance of privatized military housing \u2014 providing $10 million for the Army, $10 million for the Navy, and $10 million for the Air Force to work claims and conduct investigations and oversight of privatized housing conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bipartisan bill also funds the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to ensure veterans can receive the benefits they\u2019ve earned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill now must pass the full U.S. House before it can head to the President to become law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom my leadership position on the Military Construction Subcommittee, I ensured this bill delivers the most military construction funding for Georgia in 15 years. Despite the partisanship in Washington, I was able to pass this bill through the Senate to upgrade military and veterans’ facilities nationwide with strong bipartisan support.
