Ossoff Expanding Access to Scholarships, Tutoring for First-Gen College Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is strengthening access to scholarships and tutoring for first-generation college students across Georgia.<strong><br><br><\/strong>Sen. Ossoff is delivering over $4 million through the Department of Education\u2019s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant program to support college students across Georgia.<strong><br><br><\/strong>Trio SSS grants are used by higher education institutions to support students and ensure their academic success through tutoring programs, financial and academic counseling, and other support necessary to successfully enroll in and graduate from a four-year institution.<strong><br><br><\/strong>\u201cI remain focused on strengthening access to higher education across Georgia,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cI am delivering these Federal resources to support young people and help them access vital resources as they pursue their degree.\u201d<strong><br><br><\/strong><strong><u>Please find a breakdown of the Federal grants Sen. Ossoff continues to champion job training programs in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-strengthening-apprenticeship-programs-in-georgia\/\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;over $6 million in Federal funding to the Technical College System of Georgia through the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to strengthen job training programs and give Georgians more economic opportunities through apprenticeships, or on-the-job training opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-working-across-the-aisle-to-help-georgians-afford-job-training-programs\/#:~:text=The%20bipartisan%20bill%20would%20help,four%2Dyear%20colleges%20and%20universities.\">co-sponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>JOBS Act&nbsp;<\/em>to help students across Georgia enrolled in job training programs access Pell Grants for the completion of their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last April, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-strengthening-automotive-workforce-development-programs-in-atlanta\/\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;$250,000 in Federal funding to the Automative Training Center to purchase additional equipment and space for job training programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen.
