Ossoff joined a group of Senators&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.klobuchar.senate.gov\/public\/_cache\/files\/6\/9\/692206c1-a8e3-4bf5-9613-6c866ca15a22\/79990E39CFAC115382DD275D8A44B9F9DAB559A1ED29CCA50A36F533F7D452FC.final-snap-open-letter-to-public-sen-dems.pdf\">calling out<\/a>&nbsp;Congressional Republicans\u2019 budget proposal, which could cut billions of dollars from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and have devastating consequences for Georgia veterans, seniors, children, and farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf enacted, cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will have severe consequences for millions of veterans, seniors, children, and hard-working farmers,&#8221;&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff and the group wrote.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of January 2025, nearly&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbpp.org\/sites\/default\/files\/atoms\/files\/snap_factsheet_georgia.pdf\">1.5 million people in Georgia<\/a>&nbsp;receive SNAP benefits \u2013 one out of every eight residents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.11alive.com\/article\/money\/consumer\/potential-cuts-snap-benefits-how-it-could-impact-georgians\/85-af6e58ef-9b52-469d-b604-384fbdec5fb0\">recent study estimates<\/a>&nbsp;SNAP cuts could cost Georgia\u2019s economy $653,312,600 in benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to ensure every Georgian can afford to feed their family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, Sen. Ossoff and Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA-06), alongside other members of Georgia\u2019s Congressional Delegation,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-again-urges-gov-kemp-to-accept-federal-funds-for-school-childrens-summer-meals\/\">&nbsp;urged Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to reverse course and apply for the summer EBT program<\/a>. Last year, Governor Kemp refused tens of millions of dollars in Federal funding to help Georgia children afford lunch during the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen.
