Ossoff co-sponsored the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act&nbsp;<\/em>to expand early detection cancer screenings for Georgia seniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cancerstatisticscenter.cancer.org\/states\/georgia\">report<\/a>&nbsp;by the American Cancer Society, approximately 66,210 people will be diagnosed with cancer in Georgia this year, and an estimated 19,090 Georgians will lose their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEarly cancer detection saves lives. That\u2019s why I\u2019m helping lead Senators in both parties to increase access to advanced cancer screenings for seniors in Georgia and nationwide<strong>,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan legislation would allow Medicare to cover U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved multi-cancer early detection (MCED) screening tests, allowing more seniors across Georgia to detect the disease in its early stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to increase Georgians\u2019 access to lifesaving health coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-announces-expanded-va-health-benefits-for-georgia-veterans-through-bipartisan-pact-act\/\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;that, thanks to the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>PACT Act<\/em>&nbsp;the Senator helped pass into law in 2022, thousands of veterans battling bladder cancer, ureter cancer, other genitourinary cancers, acute and chronic leukemias, and multiple myeloma are eligible for VA healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2024, Sen.
