Ossoff\u2019s bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Eliminate Useless Reports Act<\/em>, which he introduced alongside Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), will increase government efficiency by eliminating unnecessary Federal agency reports, saving taxpayer dollars and eliminating waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/12\/24\/press-release-bill-signed-hr-663\/\">signed into law<\/a>&nbsp;Monday by the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff\u2019s bipartisan law will reform a defunct process for Federal agencies to make recommendations about which Congressionally mandated reports should be sunset, consolidated, or reduced in frequency \u2014 helping cut unnecessary Federal spending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTaxpayer dollars are wasted on needless paperwork and red tape in the Federal government. I brought Republicans and Democrats together to cut waste and save taxpayer dollars,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLess paper, more productivity. While most required reports to Congress from federal agencies are important, some provide less value than the paper they are printed on. But even as they\u2019ve long-outlasted their usefulness, they never seem to get cleared off agencies\u2019 must-do lists,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Senator Lankford.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cLet\u2019s save tax dollars and the time of federal workers to provide better and more effective customer service by eliminating these unnecessary yet mandatory reports.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rep. Robert Garcia (CA-42) and Rep. Glenn Grothman (WI-06) led the companion bipartisan bill in the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOutdated government reports waste time and resources without providing value. Having seen this issue firsthand during my time as Mayor of Long Beach, I worked alongside colleagues from both parties to push for legislation that streamlines our government processes,&#8221;&nbsp;<strong>said Congressman&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Garcia<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong>\u201cI\u2019m committed to making our government agencies more efficient and ensuring responsible use of our taxpayer dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was proud to introduce this bipartisan bill alongside my colleague, Congressman Robert&nbsp;Garcia&nbsp;(D-CA).
