Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-legislation-to-strengthen-national-security-at-hunter-army-airfield\/\">introduced<\/a>&nbsp;the<em>&nbsp;Hunter Army Airfield Support Act<\/em>&nbsp;to authorize construction of a new parachute training and maintenance facility for special operations forces at the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield, a key first step for the project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legislation passed the Senate as part of this year\u2019s&nbsp;<em>National Defense Authorization Act<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;legislation would strengthen national security by authorizing the replacement of current, sub-standard facilities with a new consolidated facility that will support better training and storage areas for the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operation Aviation Regiment and 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment to train and execute their airborne operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHunter Army Airfield is critical to U.S. national security, and servicemembers stationed at the base are always on my mind,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cThis is why I introduced and worked to pass the&nbsp;<em>Hunter Army Airfield Support Act<\/em>&nbsp;to ensure that our servicemembers have state-of-the-art facilities to carry out important missions and training.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to improve conditions and facilities for Georgia\u2019s servicemembers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-delivering-resources-to-plan-design-new-military-intelligence-battalion-hangar-at-fort-stewart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;new resources to upgrade infrastructure vital to U.S. national security on Ft. Stewart to help plan and design a Military Intelligence Battalion Hangar on the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, Senators Ossoff and Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-warnock-ossoff-secure-100-million-authorization-for-ft-stewart-barracks-construction-in-ndaa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">secured<\/a>&nbsp;a $100 million authorization in the&nbsp;<em>National Defense Authorization Act<\/em>&nbsp;for the construction of a new permanent party barracks facility&nbsp;at Ft.
