Ossoff and James Lankford (R-OK) introduced the<em>&nbsp;Stopping Political Discrimination in Disaster Assistance Act<\/em>&nbsp;to&nbsp;prohibit in Federal law any political discrimination in the provision of Federal disaster assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill is cosponsored by Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC), Rick Scott (R-FL), Ted Budd (R-NC), Roger Marshall, MD (R-KS), Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Gary Peters (D-MI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo American impacted by a natural disaster should ever, ever be denied assistance based on their political beliefs,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;said<\/strong>. \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m introducing this bipartisan bill to prohibit in law political discrimination in the provision of Federal disaster assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to support victims of Hurricane Helene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Wednesday, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/watch-sen-ossoff-presses-both-parties-on-urgency-of-agricultural-disaster-assistance-for-georgia\/\">testified<\/a>&nbsp;before the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations on the urgent need to support Georgia agriculture after the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sen. Ossoff and Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08), alongside Georgia\u2019s entire Congressional Delegation,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-jon-ossoff-rep-austin-scott-lead-bipartisan-bicameral-push-for-agricultural-disaster-relief-funding-after-hurricane-helene\/\">led a bipartisan, bicameral group of 34 lawmakers<\/a>&nbsp;from Southeastern states urging Congressional Leadership to work with them and the Biden Administration to ensure disaster relief resources are made available to agricultural producers following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene for agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen.
