Ossoff Announces Federal Grant Opportunity to Help Build More Housing in Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Atlanta, Ga.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff continues working to help Georgia families buy and afford homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Sen. Ossoff announced a new Federal grant funding opportunity to help local communities build more housing units, drive costs down, and help families afford homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) program provides Federal grant funding \u2014 through a competitive application process \u2014 to help build more housing, including developing, evaluating, and implementing housing policy plans; improving housing strategies; and facilitating affordable housing production and preservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible applicants are State and local governments and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs).&nbsp;<strong><u>Grant applications are due by October 15, 2024, at 11:59pm ET<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;and can be submitted&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grants.gov\/search-results-detail\/356013\">online here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGeorgia families urgently need more affordable housing,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cI encourage Georgia communities to contact me and my office with any questions about this grant opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to help Georgians afford homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-bill-to-help-georgia-families-become-homeowners\/#:~:text=The%20Access%20to%20Homeownership%20Act,payments%20reported%20to%20credit%20bureaus.\">introduced<\/a>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>Access to Homeownership Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help families afford homes by including their positive rental payment history in reports to credit bureaus, helping boost credit ratings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-delivering-resources-to-build-more-affordable-housing-in-atlanta\/\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;Federal resources to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, supporting its ongoing work in the Browns Mill Village Development, a mixed-income community of owner-occupied homes in Atlanta. He also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/atlanta-news\/ossoff-warnock-provide-500000-for-affordable-housing-in-clayton-county\/OSZ34SBLEBBWRLLXBDNLAUYIAY\/\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;Federal resources to Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity supporting its work in the Lovejoy neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, Sen.
