Warnock Delivering Fire Safety Upgrades Across Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Atlanta, Ga.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff today announced fire safety upgrades to protect Georgia families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock are delivering new Federal resources to strengthen local Fire Departments and upgrade public safety through FEMA\u2019s Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program and Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&amp;S) Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fannin, Emanuel, Atkinson, Union, Grady, Gilmer Counties; Statesboro, Roswell, Cleveland, Sparta; and the Sandy Cross Volunteer Fire Department will receive Federal funding through the AFG Operations and Safety program, which provides funding for professional training, wellness and fitness programs, equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), or modifications to facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lamar, Treutlen, Emanuel, Polk, and Haralson Counties will receive Federal funding through the AFG Vehicle Acquisition program, which provides funding to purchase new vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city of Statesboro and Newton County will receive funding through the Fire Prevention and Safety program, which provides Federal funding for fire prevention education and training, fire code enforcement, fire\/arson investigation, firefighter safety and health programming, strategic national projects, prevention efforts, or research and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The town of Toomsboro and the Allentown Volunteer Fire Department will receive Federal Funding through the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program to recruit and retain new firefighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFirefighters across Georgia put their lives on the line to keep families safe,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen.
