Ossoff announced that&nbsp;Qcells&nbsp;will receive up to $1.45 billion&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/lpo\/articles\/lpo-announces-conditional-commitment-qcells-finance-solar-manufacturing-facility\">in Federal loan funding<\/a>&nbsp;through the U.S. Department of Energy\u2019s Loan Programs Office to strengthen American solar manufacturing, boost energy independence in Georgia, and reduce dependence on China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding will support Qcells\u2019 ongoing expansion and construction at its Cartersville plant, which the company&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canarymedia.com\/articles\/solar\/qcells-to-invest-2-5b-in-building-out-us-solar-supply-chain\">announced<\/a>after passage of Sen. Ossoff\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act.<\/em>&nbsp;Qcells aims to build the nation\u2019s first complete solar supply chain, manufacturing strategic components of solar panels in Georgia instead of importing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur Federal manufacturing incentives are driving economic development across the State of Georgia. I join all Federal, State, and local leaders in celebrating yet another historic Federal investment in Georgia solar manufacturing to continue growing our economy and strengthening American energy independence,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-legislation-to-rapidly-boost-american-solar-manufacturing\/\">first introduced<\/a>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em>, aimed at supercharging domestic solar manufacturing to create American jobs, strengthening energy independence, and reducing U.S. dependence on China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legislation, which was passed into law within the&nbsp;<em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em>, provides manufacturing incentives for production across the solar supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/climatepower.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Clean-Energy-Boom-300K-Paper.pdf\">According to a recent study<\/a>, since passage of the&nbsp;<em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em>&nbsp;less than 2 years ago, the Federal manufacturing incentives Sen.
