Atlanta, Ga.<\/strong> \u2014 Georgia OB-GYNs are warning Georgia\u2019s abortion ban is risking the lives of pregnant women in Georgia, and now, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff wants to hear from Georgians and their families directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, OB-GYN doctors testified<\/a> before Sen. Ossoff\u2019s Human Rights Subcommittee that women have been denied care during miscarriages because of Georgian\u2019s abortion ban and shared stories of some who became septic and nearly died as a result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Sen. Ossoff is inviting Georgia families who have been impacted by Georgia\u2019s abortion ban to share their own stories with his Human Rights Subcommittee as part of its ongoing inquiry into the dangers to Georgia women\u2019s health and human rights caused by the state\u2019s 6-week abortion ban, risking the health of pregnant women who face complications and worsening the state\u2019s shortage of OB-GYN doctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to hear from you about the impact on health care for pregnant women in Georgia of Georgia\u2019s six-week abortion ban,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said in a new <\/strong>PSA video<\/strong><\/a>. <\/strong>\u201cRecently, I convened a hearing of my Human Rights Subcommittee, where we heard from OB-GYN doctors and maternal fetal medicine specialists about the impact that Georgia’s six-week abortion ban is having on the quality of health care available to pregnant women and newborn babies in the state of Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to hear your stories, whether you\u2019re a health care provider or someone who\u2019s recently been treated in Georgia\u2019s health care system, about how Georgia’s six-week abortion ban has changed the care to which you have access has impacted your health or has impacted your medical practice,\u201d Sen. Ossoff continued.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
