Ossoff Statement on Strengthened Enforcement Against Abusive Chinese Solar Imports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington D.C.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Today, U.S. Senator Ossoff released the following statement on the Biden Administration&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-brown-rubio-rev-warnock-urge-increased-tariffs-on-imported-chinese-solar-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heeding his bipartisan call<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/05\/14\/fact-sheet-president-biden-takes-action-to-protect-american-workers-and-businesses-from-chinas-unfair-trade-practices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">strengthen enforcement<\/a>&nbsp;against China\u2019s abusive solar imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m pleased to see the Biden Administration today heed our bipartisan call to strengthen trade enforcement against China\u2019s attempts to destroy U.S. solar manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile much more needs to be done to strengthen American solar manufacturing and energy security, today\u2019s action is a step in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen American solar manufacturing and energy independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, Sens. Ossoff, Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-brown-rubio-rev-warnock-urge-increased-tariffs-on-imported-chinese-solar-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">urged President Biden<\/a>&nbsp;to increase tariffs on Chinese-made solar module, cell, and wafer imports under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-colleagues-press-biden-administration-to-support-u-s-manufacturing-of-strategic-solar-components\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">led a group of Senators<\/a>&nbsp;pressing the Biden Administration to ensure domestic production of wafers and polysilicon is properly incentivized through the Inflation Reduction Act\u2019s bonus tax credit for domestic content, as intended by Congress, to help American solar manufacturing compete with China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-rev-warnock-press-biden-administration-to-support-domestic-solar-manufacturing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pressed<\/a>&nbsp;the Biden Administration to take action and eliminate the tariff exemption for bifacial modules under Section 201 of the Trade Act of 1974 to boost the competitive advantage of American bifacial module manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, Sen.
