Warnock Delivering $122 Million through Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to Upgrade Georgia\u2019s Public Transit Infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014&nbsp;U.S Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff today announced new Federal resources to upgrade Georgia\u2019s public transportation infrastructure through the bipartisan infrastructure law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens. Ossoff and Warnock announced the State of Georgia will receive $122,457,266 in Federal resources for transit infrastructure upgrades across the state in Fiscal Year 2024, authorized by the bipartisan infrastructure law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal funding will help communities across Georgia maintain and operate trains, buses, and ferries; upgrade stations and tracks; plan and design new transit corridors; and provide access for seniors and riders with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSenator Warnock and I are delivering these resources to help families get around Georgia and connect more people with health care, jobs, school, and more,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cOur bipartisan infrastructure law will deliver long-overdue upgrades to Georgia\u2019s infrastructure for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am glad to see communities across Georgia continuing to benefit from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I was proud to champion. These funds will provide critical transportation infrastructure upgrades that will help connect low-income, low-mobility Georgians to commerce and with each other,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Senator Reverend Warnock.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cSenator Ossoff and I will continue working to deliver more investments for our state\u2019s infrastructure and transportation systems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Federal funding will be delivered directly to urban transit agencies in Atlanta, Augusta-Richmond County, Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia, Columbus, and Savannah:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Atlanta: $84,136,890<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Augusta-Richmond County: $2,029,797<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chattanooga\/Northwest Georgia: $2,591,030<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Columbus: $1,589,665<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Savannah: $2,299,486<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The remaining funding will directly flow to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), which will then allocate funding to smaller localities across Georgia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens. Ossoff and Warnock continue delivering resources to communities across Georgia through the bipartisan infrastructure law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-upgrading-school-bus-fleets-across-georgia-through-bipartisan-infrastructure-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;new Federal funding to multiple Georgia school districts to purchase new school buses through the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s (EPA) Clean Bus Awards program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-rev-warnock-delivering-federal-resources-through-bipartisan-infrastructure-law-to-improve-pedestrian-driver-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;funding through the bipartisan infrastructure law to help local governments create and execute safety action plans aimed at improving road safety and preventing deaths and injuries to drivers and pedestrians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-delivering-1-8-billion-through-bipartisan-infrastructure-law-to-upgrade-georgias-roads-highways-bridges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;the State of Georgia will receive over $1.8 billion in Fiscal Year 2024 to upgrade roads, bridges, highways, and other surface transportation systems through the bipartisan infrastructure law, which will boost the Georgia Department of Transportation\u2019s ongoing work across Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"># # #<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;\u2014&nbsp;U.S Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff today announced new Federal resources to upgrade Georgia\u2019s public transportation infrastructure through the bipartisan infrastructure law.
