Ossoff&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7SXw31B9pVU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>addressed<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Congressional Luncheon<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 Tomorrow, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff will welcome Pedro Cherry, 2024 Chair of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, to Washington as his guest to the State of the Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cherry currently serves as the President and CEO of Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas. In this role, Cherry oversees all aspects of operations for the two southern region natural gas utilities, which serve approximately 1.7 million customers in two states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This January, Cherry was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/saportareport.com\/pedro-cherry-2024-chair-of-georgia-chamber-to-focus-on-economic-opportunity\/columnists\/maria_saporta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sworn in<\/a>&nbsp;as the 2024 Georgia Chamber of Commerce Chair. He previously served as Vice Chair in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt will be a pleasure to host Pedro for this year\u2019s State of the Union address,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cI am grateful to Georgia\u2019s business community for their vital contributions to prosperity and opportunity in our state, and for their continuous engagement as we implement manufacturing and infrastructure policies that are driving record investments to Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to join Senator Ossoff and represent our great state and the business community at the State of the Union,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Cherry said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cBy working together, we can continue to make Georgia a top state for business by investing in our workforce, strengthening our communities and improving quality of life for all Georgians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formerly executive vice president of Customer Service and Operations (CSO) for Georgia Power, Cherry led 5,000-plus employees in the CSO organization with responsibility for the company\u2019s customer service efforts, power delivery, sales, pricing and planning, regional external affairs, renewable development and corporate services. Named to the role in February 2017, Cherry was responsible for operating and maintaining an electric system serving 2.6 million customers in all but four of Georgia\u2019s 159 counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen.
