Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Improve Military Maternal Health Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to improve maternal health care for military moms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff is working to pass the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Improving Access to Maternal Health for Military and Dependent Moms Act<\/em>, legislation he co-sponsored alongside Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Jon Tester (D-MT) to improve access to maternal health care for moms in the armed forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill would require the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to provide Congress with a comprehensive study on access to maternal health care through TRICARE, the military health care system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent DoD Inspector General&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/media.defense.gov\/2023\/Nov\/30\/2003349496\/-1\/-1\/1\/DODIG-2024-033_REDACTED.PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a>&nbsp;found low patient satisfaction for obstetric care in military health facilities despite pregnancy and childbirth being the top reasons for inpatient admissions at military treatment facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMilitary families in Georgia are making huge sacrifices, and they shouldn&#8217;t have to sacrifice their health or their peace of mind,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m working to bring Republicans and Democrats together to strengthen health care for military moms.\u201d<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan legislation is supported by Military Family Advisory Network, Military Officers Association of America, National Military Family Association, and Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues to champion Georgia\u2019s servicemembers and military families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, Sens. Ossoff and Kevin Cramer (R-ND)\u2019s bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Military Families Mental Health Services Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help more military families access vital mental health care services&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoffs-bipartisan-bill-to-expand-access-to-counseling-mental-health-services-for-military-families-signed-into-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">became law<\/a>&nbsp;as part of this year\u2019s&nbsp;<em>National Defense Authorization Act<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, Sen. Ossoff\u2019s bipartisan amendment to expand access to breast cancer screenings for Georgia veterans&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/u-s-senate-passes-sens-ossoffs-bipartisan-amendment-to-expand-veterans-access-to-breast-cancer-screenings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">passed<\/a>&nbsp;the U.S. Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, Sen.
