Ossoff Pushing to Protect Access to IVF\u00a0for Georgia Families"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C. \u2014&nbsp;<\/strong>U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to protect access to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in Georgia after the overturning of&nbsp;<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Sen. Ossoff and Senate colleagues launched a push to pass the&nbsp;<em>Access to Family Building Act<\/em>, legislation he co-sponsored to establish a legal right to IVF in response to the overturning of&nbsp;<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>&nbsp;and the Alabama Supreme Court\u2019s subsequent extreme ruling this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Access to Family Building Act<\/em>&nbsp;would establish a statutory right for an individual to access IVF, and for a health care provider to provide IVF services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1978, nearly half a million babies have been born using IVF treatment&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/02\/26\/1198909430\/ivf-alabama-supreme-court-frozen-embryo-personhood-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">across the U.S<\/a>. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/art\/state-specific-surveillance\/2021\/table3.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2,300 babies<\/a>&nbsp;were born in Georgia through Assisted Reproductive Technology or IVF in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThanks to IVF, thousands of beautiful children are brought into our world each year. The campaign by extremists to ban IVF would deny countless families the blessing and responsibility of parenthood. That\u2019s why I\u2019m joining dozens of Senators fighting to protect access to IVF for families in Georgia and nationwide,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to protect Georgians\u2019 access to reproductive health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/701\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cosponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>Women\u2019s Health Protection Act of 2023<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, last year in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen.
