Ossoff Announces Federal Grant Funding Available to Strengthen Fire Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Atlanta, Ga. \u2014&nbsp;<\/strong>U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff announced Federal grant funding is available to help strengthen Georgia\u2019s fire departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program offers assistance to fire departments, emergency medical service (EMS) organizations, and State Fire Training Academies (SFTAs) to upgrade equipment, upgrade or purchase new vehicles, train firefighters and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFirefighters across Georgia put their lives on the line to keep families safe,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cI encourage Georgia communities and local fire departments to contact me and my office with any questions about this&nbsp;grant&nbsp;opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) opportunity is open now through Friday, March 8, at 5 p.m. ET. Eligible entities can apply for the Federal grant funding and learn more&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fema.gov\/grants\/preparedness\/firefighters\/assistance-grants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since taking office, Sen.
