Sen. Ossoff delivering bipartisan infrastructure law funding for school bus upgrades in Marietta and Macon-Bibb, Clayton, DeKalb & Richmond Counties<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macon, Ga.<\/strong> \u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources through the bipartisan infrastructure law to upgrade school bus fleets across Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff is delivering new Federal funding to multiple Georgia school districts to purchase new school buses through the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s (EPA) Clean Bus Awards program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These Federal resources will help school districts replace older diesel buses with new electric buses and other alternative fuel sources \u2014 improving air quality for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSenator Warnock and I are delivering upgraded school buses to help Georgia kids get to school more safely and to reduce air pollution. We will keep working to deliver the best for Georgia\u2019s children,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday we\u2019re once again accelerating the transition to electric and low-emission school buses in America, helping to secure a healthier future where all our children can breathe cleaner air,\u201d said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan<\/strong>. \u201cI\u2019ve sat next to students on their very first clean school bus ride and their excitement reflects the power of good policy.  Thanks to President Biden\u2019s historic investments in America, thousands more school buses will hit the road in school districts across the country, saving school districts money and improving air quality at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cClean School Bus grants will help selectees in the Southeast region purchase clean school buses that will accelerate the transition to zero emission vehicles and produce cleaner air in and around schools and communities,\u201d said Acting EPA Region 4 Administrator Jeaneanne Gettle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff continues delivering resources to communities across Georgia through the bipartisan infrastructure law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, Sen. Ossoff announced<\/a> the State of Georgia will receive over $1.8 billion in Fiscal Year 2024 to upgrade roads, bridges, highways, and other surface transportation systems through the bipartisan infrastructure law, which will boost the Georgia Department of Transportation\u2019s ongoing work across Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock also secured<\/a> over $500,000 to upgrade Georgia school buses and replace 21 diesel-fueled school buses across Cobb, Dodge, and Fulton Counties with buses that met updated emissions standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
