Ossoff has worked to make Georgia the national leader in advanced energy manufacturing &amp; innovation<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Augusta-South Carolina Tech Hub will focus on clean energy technologies<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Augusta, Ga.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 U.S Senator Jon Ossoff is announcing Georgia has been named a Regional Tech Hub, which means jobs and investment in industries of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competitive \u201cTech Hubs\u201d program was established by the Bipartisan&nbsp;<em>CHIPS and Science Act<\/em>&nbsp;and aims to strengthen American energy security and create jobs in key industries of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new regional \u201cTech Hub\u201d designation&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eda.gov\/funding\/programs\/regional-technology-and-innovation-hubs\/2023\/SC-Nexus-for-Advanced-Resilient-Energy\">includes Augusta-Richmond County<\/a>&nbsp;and regions of South Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since taking office, Sen. Ossoff has worked&nbsp;to make&nbsp;Georgia&nbsp;the&nbsp;national&nbsp;leader in advanced&nbsp;energy&nbsp;production and manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGeorgia&nbsp;remains on track to become the nation\u2019s advanced energy capital, powered by Federal infrastructure and manufacturing legislation,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cToday\u2019s announcement is a testament to Augusta and Georgia\u2019s research, logistics, workforce, and entrepreneurial assets. I congratulate Mayor Johnson and everyone in Augusta-Richmond County, and I thank President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Secretary Raimondo for their continued collaboration as we lead Georgia forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Augusta-Richmond County &amp; South Carolina \u201cNexus for Advanced Resilient Energy,\u201d a consortium led by the South Carolina Department of Commerce, aims to innovate and commercialize emerging energy storage materials and manufacturing techniques that integrate renewable energy into the state\u2019s electricity systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new designation by the U.S. Department of Commerce is an endorsement of the region\u2019s strategy to supercharge their respective technological industry to create jobs and strengthen U.S. economic and national security.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designated Tech Hubs are now eligible to apply for the next phase of the Tech Hubs Program that will invest between $50-$75 million in each of 5-10 Designated Hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><br># # #<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Augusta-Richmond County designated as \u201cTech Hub\u201d through Bipartisan \u201cCHIPS and Science Act\u201d Since taking office, Sen.
