Ossoff Secures Additional 160 Solar Manufacturing Jobs in Northwest Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cartersville, Ga. \u2014&nbsp;<\/strong>Following the passage of his&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em>, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering an additional 160 manufacturing jobs in Northwest Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following its historic investment in January, Qcells today announced an additional $147 million investment through its solar supplier,&nbsp;Hanwha Advanced Materials Georgia (HAGA), to expand solar manufacturing operations into Bartow County and create another 160 jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This announcement comes following Qcells&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/how-federal-and-georgia-state-support-enabled-qcells-vertically-integrated-3-3gw-facility\/\">historic $2.5 billion investment in Georgia this January to create 2,500 new jobs<\/a>, which Qcells said was made possible by Sen. Ossoff\u2019s\u00a0<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy solar manufacturing law continues to deliver jobs, investment, and wealth for Georgians. I\u2019m grateful to everyone who made this possible \u2014 a continuation of the largest clean energy manufacturing investment in American history,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new plant, which will be the company\u2019s third in the state, will&nbsp;become the only manufacturing plant in America to produce Solar EVA, a unique material needed for solar panels \u2014 part of Qcells\u2019 vision of creating&nbsp;America\u2019s first-ever complete solar supply chain, anchored in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe products we make are an important piece of the clean energy supply chain puzzle, and we are excited to meet this need,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Inhwan Kim, CEO of Hanwha Advanced Materials.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cBuilding our cutting-edge, advanced materials in Georgia will not only create new careers in solar but help bring more affordable, reliable clean energy to customers across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cQcells is doubling down on building a complete, domestic solar supply chain and this recent investment is critical to making that happen,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;said Justin Lee, CEO of Qcells.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cWorking with Hanwha Advanced Materials, our customers will soon be able to confidently know that the solar they buy from us was made right here in America.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last summer, Sen. Ossoff and Qcells&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/news-sen-ossoff-announces-470-new-jobs-in-dalton-ga\/\">broke ground on the company\u2019s first solar manufacturing expansion in Georgia<\/a>. The $171 million manufacturing facility added 470 good-paying jobs to the Dalton community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em>&nbsp;became law last summer as part of the&nbsp;<em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em>.
