Ossoff and Warnock secured bipartisan support in Congress to help upgrade the City of Atlanta\u2019s Emergency Operations Center, replacing older equipment with new technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new equipment will help the city coordinate emergency response efforts between local law enforcement and emergency management agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen storms, disasters, or threats to public safety threaten Metro Atlanta, crisis management is key. That\u2019s why Senator Warnock and I are upgrading the City of Atlanta\u2019s Emergency Management Center to coordinate first responders, law enforcement and disaster response officials to keep families through the region safe and informed,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBoth Senator Ossoff and I understand the importance of ensuring robust preparedness in the face of extreme weather that can destroy communities and pose risks to public safety,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;said Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThat is why we worked together to deliver this latest investment in resources and upgrades for the City of Atlanta\u2019s Emergency Operations Center that will help keep our friends, families, and first responders informed and equipped when confronted with crises.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe City\u2019s Emergency Operations Center is the core of multi-agency partnerships to keep Metro Atlanta safe during any event\u2014from Super Bowls to snowstorms. Thanks to Senators Ossoff and Warnock, we can move forward with needed technology upgrades to the region\u2019s emergency nerve center,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSecuring the funds to upgrade the City of Atlanta&#8217;s Emergency Operations Center will substantially impact our Public Safety Sector, ultimately benefitting the citizens and City,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Atlanta Fire Chief Rod Smith<\/strong>. \u201cThe upgrades will improve the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department&#8217;s response as we coordinate with our local partners and emergency management agencies. The future enhancements reaffirm the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department&#8217;s commitment to delivering the best in class service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens.
