Ossoff&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-leads-historic-coalition-push-for-hydrogen-energy-investments-in-georgia-the-southeast\/\"><em>led a historic coalition<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;of private and public sector industry leaders pushing for investments in Georgia to strengthen our country\u2019s energy security<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law included $8 billion for regional hydrogen hubs<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington D.C. \u2014<\/strong>&nbsp;U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is continuing his push to strengthen American energy security and attract new economic investment to Georgia and the Southeast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Sens. Ossoff and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) led a bipartisan group of Southeastern U.S. Senators from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee in support of the Southeast Hydrogen Hub coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, following Sen. Ossoff\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-leads-historic-coalition-push-for-hydrogen-energy-investments-in-georgia-the-southeast\/\">efforts<\/a>,&nbsp;a coalition of energy companies, universities, and nonprofit organizations in the Southeast&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/major-southeast-utilities-establish-hydrogen-152900252.html\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;it would bid to establish&nbsp;hydrogen&nbsp;energy infrastructure across Georgia and the Southeast through the bipartisan infrastructure law, which established the new $8 billion competitive grant opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens. Ossoff and Graham are joined by Sens. Ted Budd (R-NC), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA), Tim Scott (R-SC), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Katie Britt (R-AL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Southeast Hydrogen Hub coalition\u2019s member states are home to many of the nation\u2019s leading transportation, logistics, energy, manufacturing and research assets. We are heartened by the Department of Energy\u2019s encouraging notification in response to the coalition\u2019s concept paper and urge the Department to select the Southeast Hydrogen Hub coalition for funding. We stand ready to provide long-term support for the Southeast Hydrogen Hub\u2019s implementation and growth,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;Sens. Ossoff, Graham, and the group wrote to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff has been a key leader bringing stakeholders together to plan a regional hydrogen hub bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last April, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CabreraAngel\/status\/1520136334911885313?s=20&amp;t=qkUlgQwFSYIo7jjZ_cPYSw\">convened Georgia businesses and research leaders<\/a>&nbsp;to plan Georgia\u2019s development of&nbsp;hydrogen&nbsp;energy infrastructure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, in June, Sen. Ossoff led a coalition of Georgia energy companies, universities, public transportation agencies, and clean energy advocates&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/22.06.07_H2H-Statement.pdf\">in support of<\/a>&nbsp;a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy. In October, Sen. Ossoff\u2019s office convened key partners in Camden County to discuss coastal Georgia\u2019s vital role in this cutting-edge energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff and Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/georgia-officials-announce-bipartisan-hydrogen-energy-braintrust\/SISERLLLX5FQLICC3DPTSPVJQA\/\">launched<\/a>&nbsp;the Georgia Hydrogen Energy Braintrust, which is working with Georgia businesses, public and private partners, energy companies, universities, transportation agencies, and more to make Georgia a national leader in the&nbsp;hydrogen&nbsp;energy space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen.
