Sen. Ossoff honors June O\u2019Neal for her service to the Macon-Bibb community and steadfast dedication to Georgia\u2019s students <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macon, Ga. \u2014 <\/strong>U.S. <\/strong>Senator Jon Ossoff is commending June O\u2019Neal for her commitment to Georgia\u2019s youth with an Official U.S. Senate Commendation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Executive Director of the Mentors Project in Macon-Bibb County, Ms. O\u2019Neal is a champion for youth in her community, and she has helped shape the lives of hundreds of young students in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mentors Project pairs middle and high school students with mentors who empower the students to discover their best selves, offering support, guidance, and leadership trainings to students across Macon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Ms. O\u2019Neal\u2019s leadership, more than 100 mentors and 14 partner schools have stepped up to support students in their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJune O\u2019Neal serves the Executive Director of the Mentors Project in Macon-Bibb County, which matches mentors with young people across Central Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFounded in 1990 by the Education Committee of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, the Mentors Project aims to help young people who may be struggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMentors work with middle and high school students to help them reach their full potential, providing guidance, support, and encouragement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMs. O\u2019Neal leads a team of more than 100 mentors and volunteers who encourage students to work hard and stay in school, and they have dedicated substantial time to give back to others. Today, the program has grown to partner with 14 schools in Macon-Bibb County and has helped hundreds of young people in middle Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
