Ossoff and Warnock and Congresswoman Williams are delivering $30 million through the bipartisan infrastructure law\u2019s Safe Streets for All program to improve safety for pedestrians and bikers in downtown Atlanta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThrough the bipartisan infrastructure law, $30 million is coming to Atlanta for pedestrian and bike improvements along Pryor Street and Central Avenue to connect the south side BeltLine with neighborhoods across the South side of town and improve passenger and pedestrian safety,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Senator Jon Ossoff.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cI thank Senator Warnock, Representative Williams, Mayor Dickens, and the Atlanta City Council for putting Atlanta in a position to win through the bipartisan infrastructure law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is already investing in Georgia\u2019s economy and making Atlanta a safer place for pedestrians and bikers,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;said Senator Reverend Warnock<\/strong>. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to see protected bike lanes and pedestrian facilities come to Pryor Street and Central Avenue. The federal investments to connect the Southside Beltline trail to Atlanta\u2019s downtown will help create jobs, alleviate traffic, and support Atlanta small businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhether you walk, drive, bike, or take MARTA, safe roads are essential. That\u2019s why I secured this $30 million Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant. Southwest Atlanta has needed this investment and now help is on the way,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur vision of transportation in Atlanta is safe, multi-modal and sustainable,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;said Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cThese federal dollars, combined with the commitment made by voters through our Moving Atlanta Forward infrastructure program, will transform Central Avenue and Pryor Street into safe corridors that connect the Southside and the BeltLine to our Downtown. Thank you to the Biden Administration and Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock and Rep. Williams for continuing to invest in making Atlanta a city built for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new resources will implement proven safety upgrades like rectangular rapid-flashing beacons, pedestrian hybrid beacons, bicycle lanes, crosswalk lighting, roadway reconfiguration, medians, safe speed limits, edge lines, and enhanced delineation for horizontal curves at crash hot spots on the City\u2019s high-injury network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Safe Streets for All program through the bipartisan infrastructure law provides grant funding for regional, local, and Tribal initiatives \u2014 from redesigned roads to better sidewalks and crosswalks \u2014 to prevent deaths and serious injuries on the nation\u2019s roadways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens. Ossoff and Warnock and Congresswoman Williams continue to deliver safety and mobility improvements for pedestrians in Atlanta. Last year, they&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoffs-push-to-accelerate-atlanta-beltline-passes-congress\/\">secured $5 million<\/a>&nbsp;for the continued development of the BeltLine Southside Trail in Atlanta to improve mobility and safety for pedestrians in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sens.
