Ossoff is working to expand the Dugdown Mountain Corridor and the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest to protect precious forests for conservation, forestry, and recreational use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposed Dugdown Mountain Corridor project would build on a multi-state effort to connect the Paulding\/Sheffield Forest areas in Georgia to the Talladega Forest in Alabama.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposed Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest project would add new land across watersheds that provide drinking water to millions of people and contain endangered species habitat, ensuring they are further protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is significant demand for public use for both projects,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cThese areas\u2019 proximity to urban centers also increases the risk that they will be converted to non-forest use. It is urgent that these lands be secured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/news-senate-passes-sen-ossoffs-bipartisan-legislation-to-protect-preserve-chattahoochee-river\/\">passed<\/a>&nbsp;bipartisan legislation into law to protect and preserve the Chattahoochee River by improving water quality, protecting essential public works, and restoring ecosystems along the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/23.01.24_LWCF_Forest_Service_FINAL.pdf\"><strong>aqu\u00ed<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to read Sen.
