Qcells to invest $2.5 billion, create 2,500 jobs in Georgia after Sen. Ossoff\u2019s \u201cSolar Energy Manufacturing for America Act\u201d became law this summer<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dalton, Ga.<\/strong> \u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff has secured 2,500 solar manufacturing jobs in Georgia thanks to his solar manufacturing law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Sen. Ossoff\u2019s Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em> becoming law<\/a>, Qcells will invest $2.5 billion in Georgia and create 2,500 jobs \u2014 the largest clean energy manufacturing investment in American history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The $2.5 billion investment will expand Qcells\u2019 solar manufacturing plant in Dalton, Georgia, and build a new solar manufacturing plant in Cartersville, Georgia \u2014 creating America\u2019s first-ever complete solar supply chain, anchored in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy goal remains to make Georgia the world leader in advanced energy production. That\u2019s why I wrote and passed major legislation to bring more solar manufacturing jobs to our state, and today secured the largest clean energy manufacturing project in American history, with thousands of solar jobs and billions of dollars on the way to Georgia,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo one has been a bigger champion for Qcells than Senator Ossoff,\u201d <\/strong>Qcells CEO Justin Lee said.<\/strong> <\/strong>\u201cWe\u2019ve worked closely with Senator Ossoff to get his solar manufacturing legislation signed into law, which helped make today\u2019s historic investment possible. We look forward to continuing our close partnership with Senator Ossoff to create fully American-made and sustainable solar solutions, starting here in Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new investment comes after Sen. Ossoff and Qcells previously broke ground<\/a> on a $171 million manufacturing expansion in Dalton this summer, creating 470 jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff\u2019s Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em> <\/em>became law this summer as part of the Inflation Reduction Act<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff\u2019s solar law is aimed at supercharging domestic solar manufacturing to create American jobs, strengthen energy independence, and reduce U.S. dependence on China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Qcells, the new state-of-the-art Cartersville plant will manufacture solar ingots, wafers, cells, and finished panels.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
