Ossoff-Backed Bipartisan Bill to Protect Survivors of Workplace Sexual Abuse &amp; Harassment Passes U.S. House<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Bipartisan legislation passes U.S. House, heads to the President\u2019s desk<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>More than one-third of U.S. workforce is bound by non-disclosure agreements&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C. \u2014&nbsp;<\/strong>Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation championed by U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff to strengthen protections for survivors of workplace sexual assault or harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill passed the Senate earlier in September and now heads to the President\u2019s desk to be signed into law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThose who have been subjected to workplace sexual harassment or sexual assault in Georgia or anywhere in this country should never be silenced by their employment agreements,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Speak Out Act<\/em>&nbsp;will prevent employers from using non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to silence survivors of sexual abuse and harassment in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill will make NDAs unenforceable in workplace-related sexual assault and harassment cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than one-third of U.S. workers are bound by NDAs, which often allow predatory behavior to continue in the workplace. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues his work to strengthen protections for survivors of sexual abuse in all forms.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, Sen. Ossoff introduced the bipartisan\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-grassley-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-protect-children-from-online-predators-sexual-exploitation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Preventing Child Sex Abuse Act of 2022<\/em><\/a><em>\u202f<\/em>to protect children from online predators and combat child sexual exploitation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen.
