MUMBAI, India \u2013 <\/strong>Today, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff continued his eight-day-long economic delegation to India and completed the first leg of the trip after three successful days in Mumbai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, Sen. Ossoff met with political leaders <\/em>and major business executives to discuss enhancing the U.S.-India relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning, Sen. Ossoff held a bilateral meeting with Poonam Mahajan, one of the youngest members of India\u2019s Parliament, to discuss their shared values and shared ideas about the work they do to better the lives of their constituents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff met with Maharashtra\u2019s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis to explore possible areas for collaboration and deepen economic ties between Georgia and Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff met with Tata Sons Chairman, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, to foster deeper economic ties and discuss foreign direct investment opportunities in Georgia in the areas of solar manufacturing and motor vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff also discussed economic priorities and explored areas of mutual interest with the Mahindra Group\u2019s executive leadership, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, and Dr. Anish Shah, CEO and Managing Director. Currently, Tech Mahindra, a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, employs nearly 600 people in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, Sen. Ossoff met with Kotak Mahindra Bank\u2019s Managing Director, Uday Kotak to discuss the future of India\u2019s economy and the global impact of the United States and India\u2019s fiscal policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening, Sen. Ossoff met with Mumbai\u2019s civil society leaders to discuss their work to improve lives in their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, Sen. Ossoff participated in a wide-ranging discussion hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in India.  During the meeting, he engaged with the India-based leadership of prominent companies headquartered, or maintaining a strong presence, in Georgia \u2013 including Lockheed Martin, MasterCard, UPS, and Westrock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June, Sen. Ossoff <\/a>met with<\/a> India\u2019s Ambassador to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, to highlight opportunities for continued collaboration between the two countries\u2013addressing the top concerns facing Georgia\u2019s Indian diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
