Ossoff and Warnock previously&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/22.06.08_Georgia-AIDE-Letter-Signed.pdf\"><em>urged approval<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;of new GA-AIDE program to expand health care for Georgians<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C. \u2014&nbsp;<\/strong>U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff today announced a historic expansion of health care for Georgia families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/22.06.08_Georgia-AIDE-Letter-Signed.pdf\">push<\/a>, the Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the \u201cGA-AIDE\u201d proposal to invest more than $300 million into the Grady Health and Augusta University Health Systems \u2014 enabling them to improve access to quality care for Georgia\u2019s most vulnerable populations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new programs will focus on strengthening pediatric and maternal care, preventing and reducing the impact of chronic health conditions, improving access to screening and preventative health care, and addressing systemic health care inequities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSenator Warnock and I have made addressing health disparities, particularly for minority communities, a top priority and have challenged Georgia\u2019s health care system to meet these challenges head on with innovative ideas,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cGA-AIDE takes an important step in rising to that challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad to see the Administration heeded our call to expand health care access for vulnerable Georgians,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said Senator Reverend Warnock.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThe federal government\u2019s investment in the Grady Health and Augusta University Health Systems will dramatically improve child and maternal health, make it easier to treat substance abuse, and bolster health care facilities that have worked to weather the pandemic. I\u2019m proud to have fought alongside Senator Ossoff for this important victory for Georgia families.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased Senators Ossoff and Warnock\u2019s thoughtful leadership to drive innovation within the Medicaid program has paid off with the approval of GA-AIDE,\u201d <strong>said John M. Haupert, President &amp; CEO of Grady Health System.<\/strong> \u201cGA-AIDE will allow Grady to enhance how we deliver care to the community we serve by allowing us to further invest in critical areas where Georgia lags far behind, such as access to behavioral health services, cancer screenings, and maternal and child health outcomes. Ossoff and Warnock\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/senators-ossoff-reverend-warnock-baldwin-introduce-new-legislation-to-expand-affordable-health-care-coverage-to-low-income-americans-2\/\">continued push<\/a>&nbsp;to expand health care access and improve health outcomes for Georgians across the state, particularly within underserved communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-brown-warnock-working-to-help-low-income-families-access-health-care\/\">pushed<\/a>&nbsp;the Department of Health and Human Services to help low-income Americans get to their doctors\u2019 appointments and expand transportation options for recipients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sens.
