Ossoff and Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thegavoice.com\/news\/sens-ossoff-warnock-working-to-address-hiv-aids-epidemic-in-metro-atlanta-with-new-grant\/\">announced new resources<\/a>&nbsp;for Fulton County&#8217;s Department for HIV Elimination to help Georgians with HIV\/AIDS access the health care, treatment, and support services they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWorking alongside Senator Warnock, I will continue strengthening health care services, facilities, and access for the people of Georgia. The fight against HIV\/AIDS continues, and this investment will help prevent and treat disease,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve long been committed to fighting for care and justice for those living with HIV, and as a voice for Georgians in the Senate I\u2019m proud to continue that work as a lawmaker,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Senator Reverend Warnock<\/strong>. \u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic has shown that what impacts one of us impacts all of us, so I\u2019m proud that we were able to secure vital federal investments to combat the HIV epidemic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the&nbsp;<a href=\"\/\/\/Users\/tianalyew\/Downloads\/HIV_EPI_2020_GA_HIV_Surveillance_Summary_03_03_2022.pdf\">Georgia Department of Public Health<\/a>, there are nearly 60,000 people in Georgia living with HIV, with a disproportionate number of Black Georgians and Georgians living in the Metro Atlanta area becoming infected every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal Department of Health and Human Services has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiv.gov\/federal-response\/ending-the-hiv-epidemic\/jurisdictions\/phase-one\">identified<\/a>&nbsp;Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties as priority areas of focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new resources will also help provide workforce training and technical assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the latest in a string of legislative actions by Sen. Ossoff to secure the health of Georgians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen.
