Ossoff\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/news.gatech.edu\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/us-senator-jon-ossoff-visits-georgia-tech\"><em>briefed local leaders<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0in April about hydrogen opportunities for Georgia through the bipartisan infrastructure law<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is leading a historic coalition to bring new hydrogen energy investments to Georgia and the Southeast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Sen. Ossoff led a coalition of energy companies, universities, public transportation agencies, and clean energy advocates&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/22.06.07_H2H-Statement.pdf\">in support of a bid<\/a>&nbsp;to win competitive grant funding to make investments in clean hydrogen technology, production, storage, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, the Department of Energy launched the Hydrogen Hub program, an $8 billion competitive grant program through the bipartisan infrastructure law that will jumpstart massive clean energy investments nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/news.gatech.edu\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/us-senator-jon-ossoff-visits-georgia-tech\">briefed leaders<\/a>&nbsp;on the new hydrogen opportunities in the bipartisan infrastructure law and brought key stakeholders to begin plans for Georgia\u2019s role in a regional hydrogen hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe, the undersigned universities, companies, nonprofits, and other leaders, join together to advocate for Georgia\u2019s inclusion in a regional Hydrogen Hub as designated by the Department of Energy,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff and the group wrote to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThe Hydrogen Hub program created under the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act<\/em>&nbsp;presents a unique opportunity to grow Georgia\u2019s economy, expand the state\u2019s role as a leader in clean energy development, and lower energy costs for consumers.
