Ossoff and Romney<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/22.06.06_Akleh-Letter_Final.pdf\"><em>write<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;to Secretary of State Antony Blinken&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C. \u2014&nbsp;<\/strong>U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) and Mitt Romney (R-Utah) are pressing for a full and transparent investigation into the killing of Shireen Abu Akleh, an American journalist shot to death while reporting in the West Bank last month, and that justice be served for her death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe killing of a U.S. citizen and of a journalist engaged in the work of reporting in a conflict zone is unacceptable,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>the Senators write in the<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/22.06.06_Akleh-Letter_Final.pdf\"><strong>letter<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cAll over the world, journalists pursue truth and accountability at great personal risk. Press freedom is a core American value, and we cannot accept impunity when journalists are killed in the line of duty. We insist that the Administration ensure a full and transparent investigation is completed and that justice is served for Ms. Akleh\u2019s death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before his election to the Senate, Sen. Ossoff produced internationally broadcast investigations of war crimes, official corruption, and organized crime. Since his election, Sen. Ossoff has championed press freedom at home and abroad. Sen.
