Ossoff continuing push to make Georgia the national leader in clean energy technology &amp; manufacturing<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dalton, Ga.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Today, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff announced nearly 500 new jobs are coming to North Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalton-based Qcells will expand its solar module manufacturing facility, investing $171 million and creating nearly 500 local jobs in and around Whitfield County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to announce our new solar module manufacturing plant will be in Dalton, Georgia. Nobody has been a bigger champion for Qcells and domestic solar manufacturing than Senator Ossoff,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Qcells CEO Justin Lee.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cHis landmark&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em>, if passed, would create a new paradigm in which this would be the first of many such investments made in Georgia and around the United States.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI appreciate Qcells\u2019 sustained and growing investment in Georgia and the working relationship we\u2019ve built to create more jobs and opportunities for Georgians. I will continue working to make Georgia a world leader in renewable energy innovation and manufacturing,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-meets-with-south-korean-business-leaders-to-urge-investment-in-georgia\/\">met with Qcells\u2019 parent company Hanwha<\/a>&nbsp;in Seoul last year and has been instrumental in pitching and securing additional clean energy investment in Georgia, also recently&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenOssoff\/status\/1527731952501116936?s=20&amp;t=axKW0OzOuboYrzuDNa-n8g\">helping secure<\/a>&nbsp;Hyundai\u2019s electric vehicle investment that will create over 8,000 jobs in Bryan County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/newschannel9.com\/news\/local\/georgia-senator-ossoff-tours-solar-plant-in-dalton-monday\">met with<\/a>&nbsp;Qcells\u2019 leadership in Dalton last year and has championed Federal legislation to supercharge domestic solar production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qcells cites Sen. Ossoff\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act&nbsp;<\/em>as a key reason for the additional investments in the U.S. and has promised&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-magazine.com\/2022\/03\/24\/hanwha-commits-to-us-manufacturing-across-the-supply-chain\/\">additional multi-billion dollar investments<\/a>&nbsp;in domestic solar manufacturing in Georgia and the United States upon passage of Sen. Ossoff\u2019s legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen.
