Ossoff secured $3.85 million to help MARTA purchase six new electric buses to replace older diesel buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding passed the U.S. Senate and U.S. House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will help MARTA expand service while cutting back on air pollution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve heard consistently from constituents in metro Atlanta that upgraded buses that are safer and use the newest technology is a priority,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cWe have to reduce the air pollution that&#8217;s dangerous for children&#8217;s health, and I will continue to champion these upgrades for MARTA and other transit authorities and upgrade our overall transportation infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe future of MARTA\u2019s bus fleet is electric, which will help combat climate change and reduce public health impacts from air pollution, especially in vulnerable populations. MARTA thanks Sen.
